Our Journey

We are inspired by what we have achieved thus far and now look to our future growth prospects.

We are committed to building lasting

Excellence and sustainable value creation.

Our desire to become a meaningful player in the agricultural sector first began when we came to the realisation that despite South Africa’s highly diversified and sophisticated agricultural sector, we remain a net importer of food. At Sampada Agri we viewed this as a threat to the welfare of all South Africans and equally, as an opportunity to generate returns whilst making a tangible impact

Strawberry farm

Strawberry farm

  • 2019

Sampada Agri started a strawberry farming operation with a clear intention, to produce high quality fruit by implementing advanced growing strategies. Whilst we started our operation with only 1ha, this initial step laid the foundation for the sprawling operation you see today.

Expansion Strawberries

Expansion Strawberries

  • 2020

During the period 2020 - 2021, we made significant strides in the growth & modernisation of our operation. We added more tunnels to our production profile, creating a larger and more controlled environment for our plants to thrive. Additionally, we invested in the construction of a modernised pump house, improving our infrastructure and enhancing the fertigation capabilities on the farm.

More notably, we dedicated time and effort to refine our strawberry varieties and growing practices, ensuring that we consistently produce strawberries of the highest quality. This period marked a pivotal moment in our continuous pursuit of excellence in strawberry farming.

Cattle Operation

Cattle Operation

  • 2020

We started our cattle operation in 2020 with a small herd of approximately 70 breeding cows and a few bulls, with a vision of owning the entire value chain and competing with the top market leaders in the meat industry. We focused mainly on high quality meat cattle like the Brahman, Beefmaster, Bonsmara and Simmentaler . It was evident during covid that food security is vital and that there will always be demand for food through any economic cycle.
